Victor Venturi

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science (minor), and Aerospace Engineering (minor)
California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, 2017

M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, 2019

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, 2022

During his Ph.D., Victor combined first-principles simulations, thermodynamic modeling, and machine learning to investigate the role that solid-solid interfaces play in electrochemical applications, with focus on lithium metal batteries. As a postdoc, his research projects involve using machine learning methods to study complex material structures, including grain boundaries and 2D heterostructures, at accuracy levels near those of ab-initio calculations.
